BOM Upload Template

Cofactr accepts BOM files in the following formats: CSV, XLS, XLSX, To get started with a BOM upload your existing template directly to the Cofactr platform cofactr.com.

That said, we built this template with Gorilla Circuits to help hardware teams get started with a clean, standardized format. Use it as a guide or starting point if you need one.

What Cofactr Does Once You Upload

When you upload your BOM, Cofactr handles:

  • Sourcing – Best sources for your components

  • Negotiations – Secured competitive pricing

  • Ordering – All orders placed and managed on your behalf

  • Storage – Components received, inspected, and warehoused for you

  • Kitting – Parts prepared for production

  • Delivery – Your parts shipped where you need them to go

How to Use This Template

Step 1: Copy Your Component Data. Copy/add component information from your existing BOM into the columns indicated in the template.

Step 2: Export and Upload Export the file as CSV, XLS, or XLSX and upload it directly to the Cofactr platform.

Step 3: Clean Your Data Before uploading, delete all headers and any content that is not part of your actual BOM data table. Keep only the component row headers and rows with data.

Template Columns

  • Item # – Line item number

  • Description – Component description

  • Designator – Reference designators from your schematic (e.g., C1, R5, U2)

  • Manufacturer – Component manufacturer name

  • Manufacturer Part Number – Exact MPN

  • Quantity – Number of components needed
