Understanding Cart Pricing in Cofactr
Last updated: June 29, 2026
Overview
The pricing shown in your Cofactr cart is our best estimate based on the most current information available at the time. It is intended to give you a reliable reference point when planning purchases, but it is not a guaranteed final price. Actual costs at the time of order confirmation may differ.
This article explains why cart pricing is subject to change and what factors can cause the final price to differ from what you see in your cart.
Why Cart Pricing May Change
Cofactr sources parts from a wide network of distributors and suppliers. Pricing in your cart reflects real-time or recently cached quotes from those suppliers. Because the electronics supply chain is dynamic, several factors can cause prices to shift between the time you add parts to your cart and the time your order is confirmed:
Supplier price fluctuations – Distributor and supplier pricing can change frequently, sometimes daily, based on market conditions, availability, and demand.
Part availability changes – Stock levels can shift between cart creation and order confirmation, which may require sourcing from an alternate supplier at a different price point.
Order quantity adjustments – Changes to quantity can move a line item in or out of a pricing break, affecting the unit cost.
Supplier Surcharges Not Captured in Cart Pricing
In addition to price volatility, certain supplier charges are not always reflected in the cart price and may be added at the time of order confirmation:
Order minimums (MOQ) – Some suppliers require a minimum order quantity. If your requested quantity falls below the MOQ, the effective cost per unit may increase.
Reel fees – Ordering a full reel when you only need a portion may result in a reel fee not captured in the per-unit cart price.
Cut tape fees – Some suppliers charge a fee for cutting tape to fulfill partial reel quantities.
Handling charges – Certain suppliers apply handling or special packaging fees that may not be visible in the initial unit price.
What to Expect at Order Confirmation
When your order is confirmed, Cofactr will apply the most current pricing available from the supplier at that time. If there are meaningful differences from your cart price, the success team will reach out before proceeding.
