Ship As a Kit and/or Drop Shipping

Shipping as a Kit and Drop Shipping are both great ways to get your parts purchased through Cofactr to their destination facilities. While both are good options, below we have listed out some of the key differences so you can better understand which option works best for you. In Cofactr's experience, Shipping as a Kit is the preferred option due to the reasons listed below.

Benefits of Shipping as a Kit vs Drop Shipping

  • Counting - part shortages are all too common and often are not caught until they arrive to their destination location. By Shipping as a Kit, we catch those shortages at our warehouse before they end up being counted for your build, causing you to place last minute orders and production delays.

  • Labeling - We label the parts for you when they arrive, speeding up receiving for your OEM/CM so the kit gets to the line faster.

  • Traceability - We capture lot codes, date codes, COOs, and certification docs digitally so that you always have what you need for full compliance, and we keep this information forever.

  • Photo Documentation - We capture photos of every incoming item so that if there is an issue, we have all the evidence to get the supplier to address it promptly, eliminating the need for you go spend time investigating. We will do this for you!

When to Drop Ship

Sometimes you need your parts, and you need them NOW! Say one of your parts has a slightly longer LT, this would be the time to drop ship. Instead of waiting for all of your parts to arrive for a kit, you can drop ship meaning that they will skip the warehouse (as well as skip the above benefits for shipping as a kit), and go straight to you. *Please note that DK and Mouser will automatically be enabled for Drop Shipping on your account. If for whatever reason, Shipping as a Kit does not work for your business and you want to Drop Ship, we can enable the other suppliers as well. Please reach out to success@cofactr.com to do so!
