Troubleshooting Blank Labels Being Printed
Last updated: June 5, 2025
If your printer is printing blank labels or printing extra blank labels after the actual printed label, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue.
Common Solutions
Run Auto-calibration: Multiple blank labels may indicate a media calibration issue. Run the printer's auto-calibration function to ensure proper label detection.
Verify Printer Settings: Check that the media size in your Windows printer settings matches your actual label size (e.g., 3x2 inches).
Clean the Sensors: Dirty sensors can cause label detection problems. Regular maintenance should include:
Using compressed air to remove dust when loading new label rolls
Cleaning the roller and sensors with isopropyl alcohol
If these steps don't resolve the issue, we recommend working with your IT team for additional troubleshooting as the problem may be related to local printer configuration or hardware issues.
